What is Hyssop?
Hyssop is a perennial shrub that grows on the rocky slopes of the Mediterranean. It can reach up to 2 meters in height, blooming deep purple flowers and bright green needled stems. Since ancient times, Hyssop officinalis has held spiritual significance and draws its name from the Hebrew word “ezob,” meaning “holy herb.”
Hyssop was first brought to England in 1597 after being used for centuries of use in its native regions. It quickly became a staple in English gardens thanks to its attractive flowers and distinct fragrance. It has only grown in popularity since then, used to distill an aromatic essential oil popular among aromatherapists worldwide.
Hyssop supplements are available as capsules, tablets and liquid extracts.
Piping Rock Hyssop Essential Oil is available in ½ oz bottles. Hyssop oil is for external use only.
