What is Honeysuckle?

Inspiring literature, gardens, and children’s memories for generations, honeysuckle (Lonicera periclymenum) is native to Europe, but can be found growing throughout most of the northern hemisphere. These familiar flowers are creamy white-yellow and emit an aroma that is delectably sweet, especially at night.

For many, the scent of honeysuckle invokes memories of summers spent as a child chasing the honey-sweet scent of these flowers across the wind, leading to the bounty of sweet nectar that is truly a gift of nature. Children are not the only ones who love these flowers; honeysuckles are famous for attracting elusive hummingbirds as well as other types of sweet-toothed wildlife.
